Sometimes a tree has more than one main lead or stem. Greg installs a galvanized cable that is rust resistant between or among the two or more main stems. Cables are also installed to provide extra support for weak and potentially dangerous limbs by connecting two or more limbs together. Greg will climb the tree with the use of safety ropes. Or if necessary or more convenient, we use the bucket truck that has a hydraulic lift and a bucket that Greg can stand in to do cabling or of course pruning. Sometimes the branches for either activity are too delicate, or two far from the center lead to be climbed. Cabling makes the tree, and those who live around the tree safer. In other words, it helps to secure the balance of the tree against the elements, and so it will not split over / apart from the other stem.
